Plant pesticide industry has met a golden opportunity for development, reflected by Zhang Xing, a director from Northwest A&F University Bio-pesticide Engineering Research Center.

Plant pesticide has a huge potential for development. According to the view of domestic and foreign experts, in the next few years, Bio-pesticide will replace more than 20% of chemical pesticides. Public information indicates that, Bio-pesticide (no include agricultural antibiotic) accounts for 2.5% of global pesticide’s market share . Meanwhile, plant pesticide accounts for 1% of global pesticide’s market share with 10%-15% annual growth rate. According to the distribution of bio-pesticide applied situation, the developed countries in European and American account for 64% utilization of the global, and Asia only accounts for 13%.

At present, bio-pesticide has been taking the great attention of the Chinese Government. In order to promote pesticide industrial upgrading, it drew up a blue print for pesticide industry, including total volume goal, industrial development, product structure and other sides, in China's 12th Five-Year Plan. There were preferential policies to promote bio-pesticide industrial development in China's 10th Five-Year Plan and China's 11th  Five-Year Plan separately.

It is predicted that, bio-pesticide, especially plant pesticide, will be paid more attention and it will gain new developed opportunity in the future, as people pay more attention to environmental protection and health.
